About the Client

Cambridge Past, Present & Future is a local charity dedicated to protecting Cambridge’s green spaces, historic sites and countryside, ensuring these vital places are preserved for everyone to enjoy now and for generations to come. Its work balances history, nature and progress to support a thriving Cambridge.

Alongside operational demands and strategic growth, the organisation recognised the importance of investing in leadership capability and strengthening a connected, values-led culture across the team.

What They Needed

Following a period of change and development, Cambridge Past, Present & Future wanted to strengthen leadership at multiple levels of the organisation.

This included:

  • Supporting the CEO to deepen and embed core leadership capabilities,

  • Equipping line managers to move from task oversight to confident people leadership,

  • Helping the whole staff team translate newly agreed organisational values into everyday behaviours.

The aim was not simply to deliver one-off training, but to build practical leadership habits and create a shared language around culture, accountability and collaboration.

What We Did Together

CEO Leadership Development Programme

I designed and delivered a nine-month bespoke leadership development programme for the CEO, combining focused training sessions with one-to-one coaching to support both learning and real-world application.

The programme created structured space to strengthen core leadership capabilities and embed them into day-to-day practice. Each leadership theme was introduced through a practical training session, followed by reflection exercises and a coaching conversation to explore implementation within the context of the charity. This blended approach ensured leadership development was not theoretical, but grounded in live organisational challenges and opportunities.

Senior Management Team Development

To extend leadership capacity across the organisation, I delivered a focused development session for the Senior Management Team. The session supported managers to deepen their confidence as people leaders: strengthening delegation, accountability, communication, and team development practices. The emphasis was on equipping managers with practical tools and shared language to support healthy team dynamics and psychological safety.

Whole Team Culture Session

Following the agreement of new organisational values, I facilitated an all-staff session to help embed those values into everyday working life. The session focused on translating values into behaviour, strengthening communication and feedback practices, and building a more connected, reflective team culture. The aim was to ensure the values were not simply words on paper, but actively lived across the organisation.

The Impact

This programme created structured space for leadership reflection and cultural development across the organisation. While organisational change is ongoing, the work has created a clearer leadership framework, a shared language around feedback and psychological safety, and practical tools to support continued growth and consistency in leadership practice.

The CEO said: “Flóra’s work has really helped me step out of the hurly-burly and focus on my own and our collective leadership, culture and development in a practical and applicable way. Flóra was able to go at a pace that worked around my busy schedule and this allowed me sufficient time to reflect and implement what I was learning. I especially valued the coaching sessions which were based around real-life challenges.”
